National Clay Pipe Institute has been involved in research and the development of technology related to the manufacturing, design, installation and operation of Vitrified Clay Pipe systems. This area contains the tools and information developed for the engineering community relating to VCP installation and design.

The Clay Pipe Engineering Manual
This manual, published by the National Clay Pipe Institute, contains
engineering reference data applicable to the design and construction
of sanitary sewer systems. Included is information on hydraulics of sewers
and drains, sewer pipe selection in relation to corrosion, structural
analysis and design of rigid conduits underground and trench load tables
based on Marston's formula.
The Installation Handbook
This booklet is a discussion of all phases of sewer line excavation,
installation, backfilling and testing for vitrified clay sewer pipe. A handy
reference booklet for the pipe installer, crew foreman and sewer inspector.
Tech Notes
These documents are single page technical briefs based on common
questions received by the clay pipe industry. For more detailed information,

The titles and scope of each current standard is listed on this page. Due to
